Left hand turn lanes

The left hand turn lanes should be back about 5-6 feet from the intersection, such as Drake and Whitesburg. Cars do not stop behind the lines and are in the intersection and make it hard to turn left.

  1. We shouldn't design the city around cars. Cars should be designs to work in livable cities.

  2. If cars don't stop behind the lines now, how will repainting the lines further back fix that?

  3. I do agree with adding more space in the lane for safer slowing. Having some extra lines on the pavement will provide more visual cues to all the drivers. On the day that another person drove into my car, I realized that there are no cautions for persons driving in the turn lanes at Whitesburg & Drake. The yield sign was inadequate for the driver who did not "see" me.
