New No Parking signs were recently put up on Randolph Ave. in response to the bad parking behavior of the Annie Mertz office complex employees. Unfortunately, it will primarily impact the residents in that a lack of street parking is a known factor in heightened speeding on residential streets AND we will no longer be able to park in front of our homes or have visitors and service people do so either.
To me, it seems as though the city has created one problem while attempting to solve another. I welcome the clarified parking at the intersection but find the entire street prohibition to be ill conceived. We DO NOT need to turn Randolph Ave into a thoroughfare to downtown which is exactly what the lack of street parking will encourage.
Huntsville should be encouraging vital neighborhoods instead of accommodating the decidedly UN-neighborly behavior of employees in an ill-conceived, zoning violating office complex.
