Repair Big Spring Park water edges

The edging around Big Spring park is looking pretty bad. The old stone walls along the edge of the lake are crumbling. It would be good if the lake would get a retrofit similar to what you have on the West side with the sidewalk next to the edge. This would create new walkways and also repair the walls. The lake itself might benefit by draining and cleaning and or deepening certain parts. Maybee adding an island for the ducks on the south side of the lake. Either way the lake needs some sprucing up with landscaping around the edges and the concrete work.

Big Spring Park is in need of work on everything from the grounds and pathways to the infrastructure of the pond. Our citizens love the park, and because of its high level of use, the City recognizes we need to take a closer look at its design and function so we can enjoy it for generations to come. We will be addressing some of the possible changes and improvements in the upcoming comprehensive master planning process. All ideas are welcome!

My children are a regular fixture at Big Spring. My son loves the ducks and fish. I grew up in Huntsville and my Dad was a firefighter who worked at #1 across from Big Spring when I was a kid and I loved it then and now. I wholeheartly support the City upgrading the grounds and lake to make it better for our future generations..
