Historic Five Points Thoughts

I'm very passionate about Five Points and the downtown area. It has a lot of great things going for it already, and there are many projects that could make it an even more desirable area. My least favorite part of the area is that four gas stations were allowed to operate so close to the historic Five Points and Old Town areas (with even more gas stations nearby). It is a tremendous eye sore. I love local businesses like ...more »

High Speed Internet Connections to Washington DC

High-speed internet connections seems to be one of the common themes on this message board, and I am in agreement with the other people that have posted in favor of this sort of thing. Agricultural Fair

Huntsville would benefit from a real County Fair highlighting the agricultural accomplishments of the community, which serves as both a formal (4-H) and informal (exhibits/competitions/livestock shows) educational exhibition, as well as promotes local agricultural related industry (ie, Belle Chevre/Happy Heart, Historical Farms, Garden Clubs, Bee Keepers, Hobby Farms, Equestrian Clubs, Artists, Co-ops, CT Garvins, Tractor ...more »

Entrance to Memorial Parkway South from I-565

Vistors to Huntsville who travel on I-565 to exit on Memorial Parkway South (and even into Downtown) are greeted by pure ugly. Especially entering onto Memorial Parkway, where you see (on your right) Lanier Ford, run down government housing, run-down (yet good) Mexican restaurant, empty strip mall, bowling alley, ect. And on the left, what appears to be desertion at first, a random hotel with nothing (not even landscaping) ...more »
