If the Norwegian Lighthouse and Bell formerly at the Big Spring Park is still available, install them at Ditto Landing. Outfit both with hidden solar panels to provide the power to operate them. It seems the best location for this may be at the current location of the Madison County Courthouse. Huntsville should designate a “City Center” with both GPS coordinates and word addresses. The “City Center” could be designated with proper signage leading to the location. It simply state "City Center" instead of a made-up “marketing” name. The abandoned Wal-Mart building at the corner of Drake and Memorial Parkway seems an ideal location for a start. Huntsville's transportation is abysmal. Point blank period. From the development of Memorial Parkway (which severely destroyed North Huntsville) to the shuttle bus I've literally seen maybe 40 times in 6 years of living here, the only serviceable way to travel is by car. This family event is happening in cities and neighborhoods all across America. Parents and children are joining together and forming weekend rides across their cities to see the sights at human speeds. Huntsville could sponsor this activity. The Mayor's Bike Ride is close and a good start. Huntsville and Madison needs more of these activities.
