The abandoned Wal-Mart building at the corner of Drake and Memorial Parkway seems an ideal location for a start. Perhaps Huntsville City/Madison County Schools would be interested in partnering with one of the local colleges to create a Career Center program where high school juniors and seniors (who qualify) can be bused to the college for half day career training programs that make them entry-level ready for certain technical jobs upon high school graduation. Huntsville would benefit from a real County Fair highlighting the agricultural accomplishments of the community, which serves as both a formal (4-H) and informal (exhibits/competitions/livestock shows) educational exhibition, as well as promotes local agricultural related industry (ie, Belle Chevre/Happy Heart, Historical Farms, Garden Clubs, Bee Keepers, Hobby Farms, Equestrian Clubs, Artists, Co-ops, CT Garvins, Tractor ...more »
