Imagine Huntsville Ideas

The former Hale Furniture Store on Jefferson is a perfect example. The building has been empty for years. Rotting wood covers the windows. A green construction barrier (which is falling apart) blocks most of the sidewalk. Trash accumulates at the entrance. This is one thing the Huntsville is in Desperate need of. Times are changing and this generation of Huntsville you always have to travel outside of Huntsville to have fun. We are off to a good start with Shakalaka Trampoline Arena opening soon. Huntsville needs to be a city of Fun as well as great food, events and shopping. I like the idea of bringing a Brazilian or South American style restaurant to Huntsville. We have food from just about every continent, except South America is not represented very well. These are gaining in popularity everywhere, even cruise vacation ships. One special service is that the waiters bring fresh marinated roasted meat skewers right to your table.

Huntsville is truly blessed by being near a major scenic river, the Tennessee River. There has been a lot of discussion on LinkedIn lately on bringing a riverboat cruise to our city. This could also tie us closer with our neighbor cities along the river. As an added option, this boat could carry a casino. Once a year have a "Kayak Day" at Big Spring Park. Kayakers would be invited to kayak around in the lagoon for fun and also the amusement the of the spectators.

With all the talented folks in our area this may be a great opportunity for entertaining, socializing and community outreach. Seems the craft beer folks could be a starting venue.

How about events on the Green Ways? ie Art festivals, etc. It would be a good way to get people out on the Green Ways and make a day out of it. Trunk sales, etc...
