A Downtown movie theatre would be a great draw for Huntsville. Even a small theatre would encourage foot traffic and "date/family nights" in the heart of the city. As a bonus, design the theatre to have an "old time" look and feel (at least on the exterior.) Retro is the new cool. So, maybe make it a throw-back to the classic theatres that once existed here? I like going downtown and all the events going on now. It would be nice if all the public parking garages in downtown Huntsville also include nice public restrooms. In general, parking downtown is pretty cheap. So, you could probably add just a little bit to the parking fee to pay for their installation and upkeep.
Huntsville has done a decent job of increasing diversity of retail/recreation Downtown. There's still a lot that needs to happen for us to be come a "destination" city though. Huntsville could encourage more local (non-chain) restaurants to open up Downtown (especially mid-priced semi-casual restaurants that appeal to young professionals or young families.)
